Is murder a solution to a problem?

Lindsay Shiver, 36, Terrance Bethel, 28, and Faron Newbold, 29, were arrested late last month after police in Guana Cay looking into a crime at a bar found WhatsApp messages that allegedly detailed their plan to murder Lindsay Shiver’s husband Robert Shiver. She was supposedly having an affair with Bethel, according to reports.

The Thomasville Times-Enterprise published a police report that stated Lindsay Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold “on July 16, 2023, at Abaco, while being together, did, with a common purpose, agree to commit an offense, namely the murder of [Robert] Shiver.” She apparently met Bethel at Lindsay and Robert Shiver’s house in the Bahamas, which is where they allegedly started dating. Robert Shiver announced his affair and then started the divorce process.

He used his wife’s “adulterous conduct” as justification for the breakup. However, Lindsay Shiver claimed in her divorce papers that she “incurred debt beyond her means to pay” and demanded payment from her husband.

A solution to a problem? Here’s the catch for brutally killing animals for no certain reason

Authorities discovered the dog’s skull and legs stuffed in a box inside the suspect’s barn, and the 44-year-old Michigan man was arrested for torturing, killing, beheading, and dismembering the animal earlier this year. According to court documents analyzed by Law&Crime, Wexford County Circuit Court Judge Jason Elmore sentenced Thomas William Middaugh to 60 days in prison on Monday for the gruesome murder.

After being detained in February, Middaugh was first accused of two charges of felony animal death or torture as well as being a persistent offender. In exchange for the other accusations being withdrawn, he made a deal with the prosecution in May and pled guilty to one count of attempted animal slaughter or torture in the third degree.

Although Middaugh expressed regret for his actions, the owners of the murdered dog still sought retribution, and authorities find Middaugh’s propensity for killing animals extremely alarming.
