4 States Will End Their Food Stamps this July
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits have been a nig help for low-income families and its beneficiaries most especially during the wake of the pandemic. Even this time, SNAP or Food Stamps are very important amidst the increasing inflation rate.
In a published article in Washington Examiner, four states will end their Food Stamps this month of July. This means that millions of families will no longer receive monthly benefits after this month. These states are the following:
- Hawaii- July 5
- Nebraska- July 5
- Montana- July 6
- New Jersey – July 5
The amount the household received or each of the eligible members in the family received varies on the state where they lived. The average payment per household member per month in the following states is as follows:
- Hawaii- $385
- Nebraska- $178
- Montana- $177
- New Jersey- $179
Furthermore, the minimum and maximum amounts that each of the beneficiaries in the above-mentioned states are also different. It is also not clear if the state lawmakers and the state Governor have plans to extend the SNAP benefits and divert some funds to continue the program.
