Prevent Taiwan from Becoming the Next Battleground in this International Conflict
We must assist Ukraine winning the current battle but lets use the lessons learned from that conflict and the limited time we have to prevent Taiwan from becoming the next battleground in this international conflict. After all its also in America’s interest to maintain its economic and national security. It’s unfortunate that this period of great power rivalry has turned into a hot war in Europe and the start of cold war in Asia. The autocracies of world are presenting this which is not what democracies of world desired.
The recent conference between President Biden and the leaders of Japan and South Korea was wise step to prevent Taiwan from becoming the next battleground in this international conflict and also forge alliances in the face of a malicious Chinese Communist Party aiming to overthrow international norms and rule the world order. However more multilateral initiatives particularly with our NATO allies who are specifically focused on Taiwan would push back against the new norms Beijing trying to establish while also enhancing deterrence as they preventing Taiwan from becoming the next battleground in this international conflict. These initiatives would include joint transits of the strait, increased air and sea patrols in region, multilateral exercise and training of Taiwan’s military to prevent Taiwan from becoming the next battleground in this international conflict.
