NYC Investment Banker Sued By MTA Worker For Being Drunk And Assaulting Her

NYC investment banker sued by MTA worker after alleged drunken assault.

A veteran subway worker who was slugged while on the job at a Coney Island subway station is suing the well-heeled investment banker arrested for the drunken attack.

Tanya McCray has been out of work since the December incident, in which Jean-Francois Coste allegedly punched her inside the Stillwell Avenue D/F/N/Q station while trying to access the “crew room” in a nonpublic area there just after midnight, according to court papers and McCray’s union.

The single mom, 56, has been struggling with nightmares and flashbacks ever since, her lawyer said.

Coste, 53, who lives in Boerum Hill, pleaded not guilty to assault charges.

“He refuses to take responsibility criminally, and because of that she’s going to have to testify. It’s going to open old wounds and result in an aggravation of the nightmares and the flashbacks,” said McCray’s attorney, Brad Kauffman.

The train operator, who has 22 years on the job, is seeking unspecified damages.

McCray used her lunch box, with a thermos inside, to hit back against Coste, leaving him with a black eye and scratches, officials said at the time of the assault.

“Mr. Coste was suspended from Tocqueville Asset Management immediately after the incident and is no longer with the firm,” a spokesman for the company told The Post.

A criminal attorney for Coste did not return a message.
