This week in New York County, New York, several incidents occurred involving violent crimes. These incidents include a man known as “Sugar Bear” pleading guilty to murder and sex trafficking, a man being shot and killed in Harlem, a woman being sexually assaulted on a subway train near Union Square, the owner of a daycare center facing federal drug charges, and grisly photos of a blood-stained subway car being released in a case involving a mass shooting. Additionally, a bat-wielding man who attacked a homeless person received a plea deal to avoid jail time. Somorie Moses, also known as “Sugar Bear” and “Daddy,” pleaded guilty to murder and sex trafficking. He allegedly killed a woman, dismembered her body, and stored her head, hands, and feet in a deep freezer in his New York City apartment. Moses is now facing 15 years to life in prison.

A man was shot and killed at the intersection of West 142nd Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem. The victim, a 65-year-old man, was shot in the chest and later pronounced dead at a hospital. No arrests have been made, and the identity of the victim has not been released.

A 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on a northbound 4 train near Union Square. The suspect forcibly grabbed her legs and pressed his body into her. He fled when bystanders approached, and he was last seen at the 14th Street-Union Square station. The police have released a photo of the suspect and are searching for him.
