The victim was walking near East 117th Street between 3rd and Lexington Avenues when Brown, dressed in a sweatshirt and ski mask, approached her. He took her cellphone and threatened her with a gun. Brown then assaulted the woman before leaving the scene. He was arrested on November 9, 2023, wearing the same clothes from the incident.
District Attorney Bragg thanked the Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Bureau for their work in seeking justice for survivors. He urged anyone who has been a victim of or witness to sexual violence to report it.

Brown, a Brooklyn resident, is considered innocent until proven guilty.
