There are several surveillance systems established to continuously monitor the safety of vaccines.

Smallpox and polio have been completely eradicated due to the effectiveness and defense mechanisms developed in the human body by the various vaccines, but this can be dangerous, as people no longer see these highly infectious diseases as a threat to their health and take the vaccination procedures very lightly.
