Celebrity interior designer and reality TV star found dead in UES home.
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Interior designer and reality star Brooke Gomez was found dead at her Upper East Side home on Sunday after a friend requested police check on her.
Police went to her residence near East 94th Street after a friend, concerned by her absence, contacted officials around 8 p.m.
A 49-year-old woman was found unresponsive inside of an apartment, police said.
Gomez known for her appearance on the reality show “Bethenny Ever After,” where she renovated Bethenny Frankel’s Tribeca home, had reportedly been dead for several days before her discovery.
There were no apparent wounds on her body, and foul play is not suspected, police told the Daily News .
The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
She began her career at Gomez Associates under her mother Mariette Himes Gomez.
She had recently branched out with her own firm, Brooke Gomez Design, in 2019.
Her design team posted a statement following the news of her death on Instagram.
“We are greatly saddened by the sudden passing of our friend, Brooke Gomez, a light that shined brilliantly on everyone who knew her,” the statement read. “A gathering of friends to celebrate her life is being planned. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.”
Her last Instagram post read “there’s a future version of you that is so proud you didn’t give up.”
