Tax bills may just be one of the most dreaded bills of any household. As taxes continue to go up, property owners have also made their way to Tax Assessors in order to discuss their increasing tax bills. Higher tax bills are something city leaders avoid. Commissioner Tony Lewis has stated that they will be looking, through legal parameters, at having a rollback to ensure lesser tax bills. It is also recommended that city leaders implement the rollback tax rate in order to see its effects on tax bills.
In a published article by WJBF, Commissioner Jordan Johnson states that although we all need the revenue, it is still difficult to bounce back after the increase in assessment. It was also stated that although this rollback helps property owners by lessening their tax bills, it affects the revenue of the city coffers which they are thinking of cutting expenses for the city.
