A tragic infant death occurred when 9-month-old toddler died last month after his 17-year-old mother allegedly slipped a lethal dose of fentanyl to his bottle, prompting charges of aggravated manslaughter and possession of a prohibited substance against her.
Mother, 17, poured enough Fentanyl into her baby’s bottle in order to take a nap
A teenage mother in Florida allegedly caused the tragic infant death of her baby by giving him formula mixed with what she believed was cocaine in order to take a nap, as per authorities. However, the substance in the orange pill bottle turned out to be enough fentanyl to fatally harm ten individuals, said Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper during a press conference. Responders discovered the unconscious and pulseless 10-month-old boy in the living room on June 26, but their life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
In a published article in Fox News, the unnamed mother who caused the tragic infant death initially provided false information to investigators but eventually confessed after being confronted with evidence, the sheriff explained. Expressing concern, Leeper highlighted that while fatigue is common among new mothers, it is not normal to put harmful substances in a baby’s bottle to induce sleep.

Possible Pregnancy Disclosed During Booking
In this tragic infant death, the mother allegedly used an orange pill container from the bathroom, mistaking it for cocaine, and fed the mixture to her baby before laying him down in his crib, resulting in the devastating outcome. The sheriff emphasized that babies are vulnerable and reliant on caregivers for everything.
Charges of aggravated manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance were filed against her. During the booking process, the mother informed officers that she had missed her period and suspected she might be pregnant once again, according to Leeper.
