Teen Shot Dead at Inwood Park Drive, Shooter’s Case to Be Reviewed by Grand Jury

A fatal shooting at 7050 Inwood Park Drive on Wednesday, January 15, is under investigation, and the case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The deceased, a 17-year-old male, was found with multiple gunshot wounds around 2:40 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The 19-year-old male shooter, who was not injured, was located at the scene and provided a statement to police. He claimed that he and his friends were inside a vehicle when the armed 17-year-old approached and raised a gun in their direction. Fearing for his safety, the shooter said he fired shots, hitting the armed male, who was later pronounced dead by paramedics.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has been notified, and the case will be presented to a grand jury for review.
