The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery by assault that occurred at the Bread Basket Convenience Store located at 2228 E Cesar Chavez Street on November 14, 2024, between 9:00 and 9:15 a.m.
The suspect entered the store, stealing multiple vapes from a display near the cash register. When the store clerk attempted to stop the theft by grabbing the vapes, the suspect assaulted the clerk before fleeing the scene with the stolen items. The suspect was last seen heading toward 2nd and Pedernales Streets.
The suspect is described as:
- Black male, 18-21 years old
- 5’9″ tall, weighing between 150-175 lbs.
- Thin build with short, curly hair
- Last seen wearing a white sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black slide-on house shoes, and carrying a white hoodie.
