The suspect in the fatal shooting of 55-year-old Stephen Norton at a Houston bar on January 3 has been arrested.
Stephon Darial Jackson, 45, has been charged with murder in the 337th State District Court. The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. at a bar located at 3115 Bay Street in Kashmere Gardens.
Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers responded to the scene and found Norton, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Initially, no suspect was identified, but further investigation led to Jackson’s arrest on Monday, January 13. He was apprehended by officers from the HPD Northeast Patrol Station. Jackson has been charged for his involvement in the incident, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office has been notified.
