BROOKLYN, NY – The New York City Police Department is urgently seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery and hate crime. The incident occurred yesterday evening at around 7:35 p.m. near 906 Eastern Parkway, within the 71st Precinct’s jurisdiction.
The victim, a 40-year-old male dressed in traditional Jewish attire, was brutally attacked by an unknown individual. The assailant punched the victim in the head repeatedly, forcibly took his cell phone, and made an anti-Jewish statement during the assault. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is handling this case as an anti-Semitic incident. After the attack, the suspect fled towards the Kingston Avenue and Eastern Parkway station. The victim was later taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black du-rag, a purple scarf, a matching black jacket and pants with multi-colored designs, and brown boots. A picture capturing the suspect post-incident was obtained at the Kingston Avenue and Eastern Parkway station.
