Specializing in honoring and sharing Japanese cuisine, Kissaki currently has five locations in the New York area, including two locations in Manhattan, two locations in The Hamptons, and one in Greenwich. The restaurant specializes in using mindfully-sourced, seasonal ingredients to curate a unique dining experience.
The brand’s first Florida location will open early next month in Miami Beach’s upscale South of Fifth neighborhood. Here, Kissaki will bring its unique blend of tradition and innovation, showcasing a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese dining.
The Miami Beach restaurant will showcase a chic designed interior, a curated sake and beverage program, and a menu that balances authentic flavors with creative presentation.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the Kissaki experience to Miami Beach,” Garry Kanfer, owner of Kissaki, tells News Break. “The city’s diverse dining culture is the perfect backdrop for our vision of honoring the tradition of sushi while enjoying the immersive ambiance.”
Kissaki’s cuisine and menu is designed by executive chef Edgar Valerio, who brings over a decade of experience from his time at Michelin-starred restaurant, Jewel Bako.
At Kissaki, Valerio draws from a passion to cultivate an experience where everyone feels at home, offering his own style of omakase.
This commitment to excellence is seen throughout Kissaki’s menu. Diners can enjoy menu highlights such as Hokkaido scallops, tuna-stuffed avocado, spicy King Crab, Wagyu fried rice, and uni pasta, to name a few.
“Kissaki’s dining experience is an artful journey,” says Valerio. “We’ve carefully curated a menu that marries tradition with innovation, and a dining atmosphere that reflects our dedication to excellence.”
Guests looking to experience Kissaki’s omakase have the option of a 15-course menu for $150 per person, or a 10-course omakase experience for $100 per person.
Kissaki will also be reinventing the omakase experience by having a “Omakase Trolley” where the culinary team will present a curated selection of dishes directly to diners at their table outdoors. With Kissaki having its own fishery and wildlife license, Kissaki is able to provide guests with the freshest ingredients like Uni and Caviar directly from Japan within 24 hours.
Kissaki’s 3000-square-foot chic and stylish vibe will incorporate all the design elements from their five New York area locations, while adding in traditional South Florida flair. Created by Lauren Jayne Design, Kissaki’s interior will transport guests to the dark drinking dens of Japan.
The ambiance flows with minimalistic natural elements, and earthy tones combined with warm glow lamps, and dramatic lush foliage throughout the space. Kissaki’s sleek and intimate bar sets the scene for enjoying its must-have beverage offerings. Guests can sip on libations from the restaurant’s wide variety of cocktails, sakes, Japanese whiskies, wines and beers. Unique craft cocktails include takes on the margarita, paloma, and Old Fashioned.
