According to True Crime Daily, the arrests came about when police investigating a separate incident at a bar in Guana Cay stumbled upon incriminating WhatsApp messages detailing their alleged plan. Reports further said that Bethel is said to be the man with whom Lindsay was having an affair, which led to Robert filing for divorce, citing his wife’s adulterous conduct as the grounds for separation.

The couple owned a home in the Bahamas, where Lindsay reportedly developed a relationship with Bethel. According to Bahamas Court News, Robert Shiver bailed all three suspects out of jail, Lindsay was given a $100,000 cash bail, while the bail for Bethel and Newbold was set at $20,000 each. As part of their bail conditions, Lindsay is required to wear an ankle monitor and must remain in the Bahamas until her court date scheduled for October 5. Bethel and Newbold must also wear tracking devices and report to Marsh Harbour Police on specific days, as reported.
Lindsay Shiver, known for winning Miss Houston County in 2005 and achieving second place in the National Peanut Festival pageant, is embroiled in a high-profile case due to the alleged murder plot against her estranged husband.
