According to the Sanford, Florida Police Department, the death of a lady who was discovered last month in a house with a zip tie around her neck is being investigated as a homicide, not a suicide, and detectives have named a potential “person of interest.”
Florida Police Investigation
49-year-old Joysee Cartagena Clemente was discovered inside her home on July 17 with a “large zip tie” around her neck, according to authorities. Despite the efforts of the paramedics, she passed away on the spot.
A potential person of interest with apparent ties to Clemente was named on Tuesday, according to Sanford police. However, no one has been called a suspect nor has anyone been detained. Additionally, police did not go into detail regarding how the alleged “person of interest” was related to Clemente.
Police also claimed it was believed to be an isolated event and that there was no general threat to the public.
Florida Police: Coworker called 911
On the morning of July 17, a coworker attempted to reach Clemente by calling 911 to inquire about her well-being, but she was unavailable. She told a 911 operator that she would never simply sort of go without a trace.
A representative for Seminole County Public Schools confirmed that Clemente had worked before for the organization as a secretary and clerk at Lawton Elementary School in Oviedo after beginning her career as a secretary and clerk at Spring Lake Elementary School in Altamonte Springs.
