Wildlife Forever is proud to announce the continuation of their partnership with the Guy Harvey Foundation for the 2024 The Art of Conservation Fish Art Contest. The Guy Harvey Foundation will continue to support the Guy Harvey Shark Award, a special category of the competition featuring all species sharks.
“Sharks are an incredibly important part of the ocean ecosystem, and it has been very unfortunate to see populations declining over time. We hope this award brings awareness to the issue, and connects students to their conservation needs,” said Greg Jacoski, Executive Director, Research and Policy at the Guy Harvey Foundation.
Art eligible for the Guy Harvey Shark Award must depict any species of shark and include a written component relevant to the chosen species. The Fish Art Contest is open to youth Kindergarten – 12th grade from anywhere in the world. One student artist will be chosen as the Guy Harvey Shark Award winner and will receive a print signed by Dr. Harvey (up to a $200 value) and be eligible to win additional awards and recognitions. The deadline to submit entries to the Fish Art Contest is February 28th, 2024.
“We are very glad to continue our partnership. Our shared mission of connecting people to conservation through art shines through the Guy Harvey Shark Award,” said Pat Conzemius, President and CEO of Wildlife Forever.
Teachers, pair the Fish Art Contest Guy Harvey Shark Award with Guy Harvey Collections – Sharks: an education initiative developed as a collaboration between the Guy Harvey Foundation and the Florida Department of Education. The Guy Harvey Collections are STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) lessons for K-12 students anchored in Dr. Harvey’s art.
