The Metropolitan Police Department has since announced a $25,000 reward for any information leading to the apprehension of the suspect. The George Washington University Hospital, a renowned medical facility, suddenly became the focal point of a citywide manhunt on Wednesday afternoon. Christopher Haynes, the accused, was under police custody when he was transported to the George Washington University Hospital after complaining of ankle pain. A nearby resident’s surveillance footage later showed Haynes trespassing their yard, notably wearing only white socks without shoes from George Washington University Hospital.

Haynes, 30, had been arrested and charged in connection with the Aug. 12 murder of Brent Haywood. As this news broke, the vicinity around the George Washington University Hospital braced itself, with many hoping for a swift resolution to the crisis. While the news release from the police department did not confirm if Haynes was armed, they urged the public not to approach him and to dial 911 immediately upon sighting. Haynes is described as a Black male, 6’0″ in height, weighing approximately 205 pounds. His last appearance, according to reports near the George Washington University Hospital, was in a black shirt, gray shorts, and white socks, with black handcuffs still dangling from one wrist.
