A Pennsylvania couple, Jacob N. Maloberti and Lauren E. Maloberti, who raised thousands of dollars through a GoFundMe page following the death of their 5-year-old son, Landon Maloberti, have been arrested and charged in connection with Landon Maloberti’s death. According to Law & Crime, the GoFundMe page has been disabled, and the crowdfunding company has stated that donor requests for refunds will be honored. Authorities allege that the parents physically and emotionally tortured Landon Maloberti, ultimately leading to Landon Maloberti’s death, with his brain suffering severe injuries.
GoFundMe has taken a firm stance against the misuse of its platform and is cooperating with law enforcement investigations into the accused wrongdoers, as reported. The company has removed the fundraiser from its platform, and the requested refunds will be covered by GoFundMe’s own funds.

Disturbing Case: Corrections Officer Jacob Maloberti and Wife Charged with Homicide and Assault of Landon Maloberti, Shocking Delmont Authorities
According to a published article in People, Jacob Maloberti, a corrections officer at Fayette State Correctional Center, is facing charges of criminal homicide, endangering the welfare of children, criminal conspiracy, and aggravated assault of Landon Maloberti. Lauren Maloberti is charged with the same crimes, plus one count of first-degree murder. Delmont Police Chief T.J. Klobucar expressed shock at the disturbing nature of Landon Maloberti’s case, stating that they had never encountered an incident like this before, as reported.
As reported in Law & Crime, the investigation into the Malobertis began when they brought an unconscious Landon Maloberti to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead a week later. Medical staff reported that the parents showed no urgency, claiming Landon Maloberti was just unwell from COVID, but doctors at UPMC Children’s Hospital found that Landon Maloberti had suffered multiple severe brain bleeds and extensive injuries.
The report further stated that Westmoreland District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli stated that Landon Maloberti endured a difficult life marked by physical abuse and emotional maltreatment before his death. Colleagues of Lauren Maloberti also alleged that she had expressed dislike for Landon Maloberti, referring to Landon Maloberti as “hard to love.” The Malobertis are currently in custody without bond and are set to appear in court on Aug. 8, as reported. The district attorney promises to pursue the case with the dignity and honor that Landon Maloberti deserves.
