On Saturday, January 18, 2025, at approximately 10:50 AM, the La Marque Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 300 block of Albert Street. Officers arrived to find a 40-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. La Marque EMS treated the victim before transporting him by ground ambulance to Mainland Medical Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives from the La Marque Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division were called to the scene and determined the incident to be domestic in nature. A female resident of the house was interviewed and subsequently taken into custody.
Following consultation with the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, 39-year-old Requida Nashawn Harper was charged with Murder. She has been assigned a bond of $150,000.
