Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, January 16, 2025, around 6:10 p.m. at 5000 Westheimer Road.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area and called 9-1-1. Shortly after, officers responded to a nearby emergency room located in the 5000 block of San Felipe Road, where an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds had been brought in by private vehicle. Despite efforts by medical staff, the man was pronounced deceased.
The victim, believed to be in his 30s, has not yet been officially identified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, wearing a green hoodie. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect shot the victim in the parking lot of a business at the Westheimer address, with robbery appearing to be the motive.
