On Friday, January 10, 2025, at approximately 12:58 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 11800 block of Research Boulevard northbound. The driver, 36-year-old Anthony David Jones, was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
This incident marks Austin’s first fatal crash of the year, resulting in one fatality. Last year, on the same date, a fatal crash also claimed one life.
