Love Story actor Ryan O’Neal was buried Saturday next to his longtime lover Farrah Fawcett.
Following the 82-year-old actor’s death on December 8 th , he was laid to rest Saturday at the Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
The former high-profile Hollywood couple had a tumultuous relationship over the course of three decades, but were reunited at the time of Fawcett’s death in 2009.
The UK’s Daily Mail reported that the ceremony was attended by the couple’s son Patrick , one of a group of around 25 people to gather at the graveside.
O’Neal died of “congestive heart failure,” according to his death certificate, released on the same day. The underlying cause was cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle. No other cause was listed.
The actor had been in ill health for some time. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012 and chronic leukemia in 2001.
He was best known for his run at the box office in the 1970s, with hits including Paper Moon , in which he co-starred with his daughter Tatum. Aged nine during production, she went on to win a Best Supporting Actress Oscar and become the youngest person to win a competitive Academy Award.
His other movies included What’s Up, Doc? The Main Event and Barry Lyndon.
