A newly surfaced video apparently shows a school safety officer being attacked at a New York City school where a riot broke out a week later. Councilwoman Vickie Paladino posted the video to X , formerly known as Twitter, of the brutal beating. It happened around noon on Nov. 15 at Hillcrest High School in Jamaica, Queens, and started when five students got into a fight. School safety agents tried to break up the fight but ended up being targeted. Three NYPD school officers suffered minor injuries and four students were arrested and charged as juveniles. View post on Twitter“It’s clear that the administration of Hillcrest is totally compromised and either unwilling or unable to do what’s necessary to provide a safe environment to their students or their faculty,” Paladino wrote. The NYPD responded by saying it was aware of the incident and “the individuals responsible.” It is the same school where more than 20 NYPD officers were summoned when students there went on a rampage after learning one of teachers attended a pro-Israel march. Footage from that hallway ruckus was captured on video, and shared on TikTok . The students are seen shouting, chanting, drill dancing, and holding Palestinian flags. A teacher who is Jewish said she hid in a locked office for two hours as the students took over the hallways. Paladino, one of the few Republicans on the New York City Council, called for the school to be shut down and said, “Our students and our city deserve far better than this.”
