Assault Occurs at 14th Street – Union Square Station, Suspect Remains at Large.
In New York City, NY, law enforcement officials are currently searching for an individual who reportedly sexually assaulted a 24-year-old woman while she was waiting for a train at the 14th Street – Union Square subway station last Sunday.
At around 3:30 a.m., an unknown perpetrator approached a woman waiting for a northbound N train. The police report states that the attacker started the assault, causing the victim to try and walk away. However, the assailant didn’t stop and proceeded to forcefully push the woman to the ground and continue with the assault.
Fortunately, a kind-hearted individual stepped in, stopping any further harm from being inflicted on the victim. Unfortunately, amid the altercation, the perpetrator was able to snatch the victim’s phone before escaping in an unknown direction. The victim was then taken to the hospital for medical attention for her injuries.
According to reports, the individual in question is a male in his forties, standing about six feet tall and sporting short, black hair.
Authorities appealed to the public for any leads or information regarding the incident or the perpetrator.
