“That ‘70s Show’ actors Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, along with other co-stars and associates, wrote letters to the court in support of their convicted former colleague Danny Masterson before he was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for assaulting two women two decades ago. In their letters, Kunis and Kutcher described Masterson, who was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison, as an amazing friend, an outstanding older brother figure, and a loving and responsible parent.
They praised his caring nature, his influence on them to discourage drug use, and his gallantry when defending a defenseless woman. Bijou Phillips, the wife of the man sentenced to 30 years to life in prison, also wrote a letter emphasizing Masterson’s character and fatherhood.
Other actors, including Debra Jo Rupp, Kurtwood Smith, William Baldwin, and Giovanni and Marissa Ribisi, as well as several Hollywood producers/writers, also provided testimonials portraying the man sentenced to 30 years to life in prison positively.
However, according to a published article by NBC News, Masterson’s victims described him as a predator in powerful impact statements delivered to the court which resulted to his sentence of 30 years to life in prison.
