The New York City Mayor pushed the bill to help the homeless household have their own permanent shelter without following the old rule of the city. This rule requires the homeless household to stay-in in the shelter for 90 days before they can apply for permanent housing.
According to the Daily News Mayor Adam declared already the success of the policy to have the homeless household have their permanent shelters. This happened even before the council override it.

This order that Mayor Adam signed last Tuesday stated that the homeless households will be eligible for the assistance of permanent housing voucher even though they do not follow the 90-day requirement.
According to a report the by adopting the bill that is being pushed it will save the City from the annual housing and services cost. The policy for the homeless household to have a permanent housing was described as not a smart policy but instead its the right thing to do for the homeless household.
Although their are people said that the New York City Mayor argument on using permanent housing vouchers will prevent evictions but it will create competitions among the current holders.
Mayor Adam’s also stated that if the government overrides his veto about the permanent housing vouchers since they have the authority for this matter, he will pursued legal action.
