On Sunday, June 15, a woman was driven over and murdered by her own truck while pumping gas, according to local Kansas City news stations.

The Kansas City Police Department notified local news stations that the event occurred around 1:42 p.m. local time Sunday. According to police, a woman driving a Ford F150 stopped at a nearby gas station to pump gas.

During this process, for unclear reasons, the empty vehicle began to slide backwards out of the parking spot. As the truck rolled, the woman attempted to reenter through the passenger side, according to authorities.

However, authorities say the woman was unable to enter and fell to the ground, being run over by the Ford truck, according to KCTV5.

The woman was pronounced deceased on the scene. Her identity has not yet been revealed.

The Kansas City Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from USA TODAY on Wednesday, June 18.
