Heat advisory for the entire region; strong storms and damaging winds possible

Today, the region is still experiencing a heat wave.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the majority of the region until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The majority of the region is waking up to temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s, with some areas reaching the low 80s.

Ritz predicts another hot and muggy day, with highs in the low 90s and a heat index near 100.

She said thunderstorms could appear in the afternoon. However, not everyone will experience rain.

“There is a slight chance of strong to severe thunderstorms. “The main concern would be damaging winds,” she explained. “
