A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the entire region through 8 p.m. Friday, as another day of sweltering temperatures and high humidity sets in.
Morning temperatures are off to a warm and sticky start, ranging from the low to mid-70s.
According to meteorologist Ritz, expect hot and muggy conditions throughout the day, with afternoon highs in the low 90s. The heat index could climb to around 100 degrees, making it feel even hotter.
“A few more storms are possible this afternoon,” said Ritz. “It will feel even more humid after the storms, especially during the hottest part of the day.”
Some storms could become strong to severe, with damaging winds being the main threat. There’s also a possibility of small hail and minor flooding in localized areas.
Stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, and monitor local alerts in case of severe weather developments.
